iTunes - Free some disk space

Free the space occupied by unnecessary items under iTunes

Intro

Over time, various iTunes stores information on your computer (by default in the C drive) and sometimes it can take up to several GB. here is the detailed procedure to remove what is unnecessary.

What can you delete?

- Obsolete backups

- Former firmware that are no longer accepted by iTunes

For example, here occupied by the useless things in iTunes on my computer:

Procedure

Connect your iDevice to iTunes in order to have a recent backup.

Go to the C: drive> Users (Windows Vista or 7, and in Documents and Settings in XP)> [Your user name, in my case Olivier]> Application Data> Apple Computer

in MobileSync Backup you will see a series of files containing a sequence of numbers, sort files by "modified" and then select the oldest files, press SHIFT and the DELETE button and press enter.
