Lenovo expands Yoga range with 13in Yoga Tablet 2 Windows

Lenovo has officially revealed the Yoga Tablet 2 Windows, expanding its range of Yoga tablets for a sixth time in less than a month. Having announced the Yoga 3 Pro hybrid laptop, Yoga Tablet 2 in 8in and 10in models, and projector-packing 13in Yoga Tablet 2 Pro at a high profile event in September, the company has now given Windows some more attention with its latest launch.

The Yoga Tablet 2 Windows is practically identical to the Yoga Tablet 2 Pro, with the same 13in, 2,560x1,440 resolution display, quad-core Intel Atom Z3745 processor running at up to 1.86GHz and a battery that should last for up to 15 hours on a single charge, but it loses the integrated projector in favour of doubling the memory to 4GB and increasing the storage to 64GB as standard. There's still a microSD card slot for adding an additional 64GB of space.

Otherwise, it has the same shape, complete with integrated kick stand that can either prop the tablet up in Stand mode, tilt it at a comfortable angle for working or reading, or hang it from a wall using the built-in hook. It has the same structural improvements made to the other new Yoga machines, meaning it should be a little sturdier when used in stand mode and only unlock when you press a button on the back of the device, rather than flip out accidentally.

It will also come bundled with a clip-on keyboard, turning the tablet into a full-on work machine. Withouth the keyboard attached, the tablet weighs less than 1.1kg, so should be perfectly portable, and even with the keyboard thrown in a bag it should still be a lighter combination than most Ultrabooks.

Lenovo will be launching the Yoga 2 Tablet Windows in the US from November onwards, with prices starting from $699 including a bundled keyboard accessory. Currently there are no details on a UK launch, but bsaed on current exchange rates (and without taking VAT or tax into account) it could cost around £450.
