Samsung confirms Galaxy Note 10 will come with SuperFast Charge technology

Samsung’s Galaxy Note 10 release date is just days away and the company has inadvertently confirmed some of the flagship phone’s upcoming features.

On an events page for Samsung’s 837 store /community centre in New York, details about a Galaxy First Look were published earlier this week. Taking place on Saturday 10 August, two days after the phone’s grand unveiling at the Samsung Galaxy Unpacked event , the event page was inviting Samsung fans in and around New York to visit the store and get a first look at the “latest Galaxy device.”

It appears this page has since been removed, and the link redirects to the store’s homepage, but not before a number of details could be harvested by journalist Max Weinbach from XDA Developers . In particular, the event's description made reference to “new” features including “Intelligent Battery, Superfast Charge, Wireless PowerShare, and the next-generation S Pen.”

Technically, none of these features are new, but they are still enough to get us excited about the upcoming device.

Superfast Charge is probably the most interesting of the lot because, until now, it has only been seen on the Samsung Galaxy S10 5G and Samsung Galaxy A80 and maxed out at 25W charging. Rumours suggest the Galaxy Note 10 will support 45W charging – giving your battery almost double the boost. By comparison, standard USB ports charge at around 6W and Samsung’s Adaptive Fast Charging pushes this to 15W. With the current SuperFast charging technology, you can go from a dead battery to 50% in 30 minutes so we’d expect even faster times with a souped-up version. The Huawei SuperCharge standard is powered by 40W and can reportedly take a phone from dead to full in a little over an hour.

This advanced charging standard on the Note 10 has been rumoured previously and it appears Samsung has at least confirmed its inclusion, even if the specifics weren’t revealed.

Intelligent Battery is a feature that was introduced on the Samsung Galaxy S10 and has been designed to optimise your battery life based on how you’re using the phone, where you are and what apps you have open. Wireless PowerShare lets Galaxy phone, Galaxy Buds and Galaxy Watch Active owners share power. Elsewhere, the next-generation S Pen is rumoured to have longer battery life Air Motion gestures, and more Air Mouse features when used with Samsung DeX .

The Samsung 837 events space is found in the Meatpacking district in New York and is full of tech demos, interactive art installations and regularly hosts live music, exclusive screenings, and radio recordings thanks to its amphitheater, DJ booth, customer service and experience area, and café.

Saturday's event is due to take place from 1.45pm until 3pm and Samsung will provide food and drinks, as well as a Q&A session on the new device.
